Godman Guild Association
August Community Round Table- Vision and Hearing
5:30 PM - 7 PM
South Side Roots Cafe & Market, 280 Reeb Ave., Columbus
One of the most important factors in determining your child’s educational success is his/her ability to see and hear well. A study of preschoolers found those who needed glasses scored poorly on standardized tests. For children 3-5 years old, this is a critical time for brain development, with clear vision vital to proper development.
Beyond seeing the world, children must be able to hear a variety of sounds, including the voices of family members and teachers. If we lose our hearing, we lose contact with those we love and the world around us. Children in an under-resourced neighborhoods are more likely to suffer from undiagnosed hearing loss or vision issues for a longer period of time than in a better-resourced neighborhood.
Join us as we discuss the future of our children from the lens of proper vision and hearing.
