Godman Guild Association
July Community Round Table- Summer Learning
5:30 PM - 7 PM
Easton Community Room
Summer slide, or “summer brain drain,” is the loss of academic skills that occurs when students do not participate in enrichment activities during the summer. This problem is more pronounced in lower-resourced neighborhoods than in more affluent communities. If left unchecked, summers can cause students to lose up to three months of learning, which accumulates over time and results in higher dropout rates.
Summer is a critical time that can help students in our community stay on the path to bright futures. Combatting summer learning loss helps students maintain the progress they make during the school year and encourages students to succeed socially, economically, physically, and educationally. Please join us as we discuss strategies and solutions with Godman Guild's partners.
